There are a lot of things that I watch that when trying to write a review of the episode on IMDB it sounds off and far too much like a book report. Not because I'm so stiff in my writing but because an IMDB report is supposed to be more technical and have as much to do with what they did right or wrong, what they were skilled at even if I didn't like it. Also as far as writing reviews for episodes, I include things about other episodes or the arcs as a whole and then it's no longer about that single thing I'm reviewing.
But a bigger part of that is when I'm writing a review on IMDb, unless they click on my name, they don'[t know any other reviews I've written. they have no 'sample' for my writing or what I watch. Which leaves them with very little context or understanding for why I write the way I do or focus on what I focus on. So here on a personal blog where everything is collected...and I am able to express more fully my connection and why something does or does not appeal to me, readers get a far more complete picture. As well as far greater statistical and emotional context.
So instead of copying what I write on IMDB I'll write reviews that were too involved or too esoteric to be written for IMDB in the first place.
