Possible sculpting of a Story

Fully aware of how out of the blue this might seem but I wanted to get your advice on how to write a scene for one of my most prolific characters in my writings.

I'm writing a story that will be the last adventure my character Sasha Jordan Scott ever takes.

Or one of the last stops because she is herself getting too old and tired of the world to keep visiting Arrow's Star City, Merlin's Camelot and the X Mansion. there is one line I came across that hit me hard for a more real life reason. My character Sasha Jordan Scott just came across one such problem. She mentioned to a friend that this is 'one Sophie's Box I (she) is not gong to open'.  Obviously she is mixing metaphors and will be asked which idiom she means: Sophie's Choice or a Pandora's Box. The thing is, her mixing metaphors was deliberate and actually pretty accurate. She is referring to a literal choice her SISTER Sophie made once before. And  she's afraid she'll make the wrong choice, which would open up another Pandora's Box of hell.

I've been dismissed as not making sense a lot of times, I say something in a weird way or it's just really hard to know where I got these ideas. Most people don't stop to see that my ideas make sense no matter where I got them, and with a little time even the words themselves --what I literally said -- made sense and fit better what I was trying to say...however weird the words sounded. I'm trying to figure out how to leave NO doubt how true to life this part of my story is...without pouring over it too much or getting caught up in my 'poor me this really DID suck' phases I've had lately.

Possibly just how grinding teeth or visibly aggravated Sasha should be, or anyone would be to a friend who makes such an understandable and innocent, but deeply personal mistake.

Correcting something that doesn't need corrected...and splitting hairs instead of (as they think they are doing) pushing the hairs back together.
